About The Photographer

You could say I was born into photography. My father, Elliott Landy, was a well known photographer before I was even born. After 40 years, he is still shooting, lives from his photography, and is still well known for his pictures of the Woodstock era. I began using my first serious camera at about 3 years old and went "pro" at 15, shooting on assignment for national rock music magazines. Today my music photography is represented worldwide via photo agencies abroad. In more recent years, my photography has transitioned from magazine work covering the largest events in modern history to covering "smaller" business events and social functions as well photographing portraits for business and personal use.

About Florida Event Photos

Photographing events can be tricky business. In the world of live concerts and musicians, the challenges are plenty; rapidly changing and unpredictable lighting, musicians running back and forth, people and other objects flying overhead (for real), only a few minutes to shoot, etc... In corporate and social functions the challenges are different, but just as vital to recognize. The ability to recognize and anticipate the unique challenges and the importance of a particular shoot combined with imaginative technique and technical prowess is what makes getting those "wow!" shots possible.

Florida Event Photos is a South Florida studio on wheels. Your event is my studio. Your surroundings are my backdrop. If what you are looking for is an actual studio image with a studio back drop, I have that too (see my portraits page).

My goal is to truly preserve the memory of your event. I am there to capture the occasion, not to create it. The interaction between a photographer and the attendees should be secondary to the event itself (how many weddings have you been to where the photographer had more time with the bride and groom than their own family did?). The photographer should be a chameleon at an event, never a polo shirt at a wedding, suit at a kid's birthday party, or photography vest on a golf course. You won't have to be concerned about that with us.

Florida Event Photos is not a one man show. We can provide services such as onsite printing, onsite studio-style shots, hair and makeup, multiple photographers, and face painting for kids (or adults if that's your thing).
